SAMPLE / Draft, not legal advice.
This page is a template. [SHOP LEGAL NAME] must check it with a qualified adviser (a food safety adviser or the local council's environmental health or trading standards team) before the site goes live. Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE].
⚠️ Items marked ⚠️ are assumptions that have not been checked and need an adviser's review.
Speak to our staff
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please speak to a member of staff before you buy, or phone us on [SHOP PHONE]. Please do not send allergy details on WhatsApp.
The product list on this website does not show ingredients or allergens. Do not rely on it for allergy decisions.
The 14 allergens
UK law lists 14 allergens that must be declared:

- crustaceans (such as prawns, crabs and lobsters)
- eggs
- fish
- lupin
- milk
- molluscs (such as mussels and oysters)
- mustard
- tree nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios and macadamia nuts)
- peanuts

Packaged products
Packaged products carry their ingredients and allergen information on the label. For packaged food sold in the UK, the required food information must be in English. Many of our products are made in Romania; on these, the English information is usually on a label added by the importer. If you find a packaged product without English allergen information, please do not buy it and tell a member of staff.
Always read the label, even on products you buy often. Recipes and labels can change.
Loose, sliced and bakery items
Items sold loose, sliced to order or from our bakery shelf, such as bread, covrigi and deli meats sliced in the shop, do not carry a full label. Ask a member of staff for allergen information on these items. Staff will tell you which of the 14 allergens they contain.
If you order for collection
If you send us an order request on WhatsApp, you can ask for allergen information on any item free of charge before you confirm your order, by phone on [SHOP PHONE] or in person. Staff can also tell you again at collection, before you pay.
Cross-contamination
Loose, sliced and bakery items are handled in the shop alongside other foods, using shared equipment such as slicers, knives and counters. Even where an item does not contain an allergen as an ingredient, we cannot guarantee that it is free from traces.
